Mandy North, Lead Pastor
Rev. North was called to full-time service as Lead Pastor in November of 2017. She brings a capable, compassionate mixture of gifts to her work in ministry.
Mandy has a passion for the faith formation of youth and young adults as they recognize, explore, and strengthen their relationship with God in Christ. She has worked as a volunteer with our youth and children ministries since 2007 and as Coordinator of Youth Ministries (part-time, 2008-2009) and Coordinator of Special Ministries (part-time, 2010-2011). She served as interim pastor at Nokesville Church of the Brethren (part-time, 2014-2015). She has been an active leader in district youth events and in 2014 she authored the junior high youth lesson plans for Shine — the children’s and youth curriculum published by Brethren Press and MennoMedia. Mandy received her Master of Arts in Christian Education from Union Presbyterian Seminary (2013), her Bachelors of Science from Bridgewater College (2002) |
Kim Beaty, Church Office Administrator
Kim is responsible for the church office, which comprises of many different roles.
Kim is a Washington, DC metro area native, who grew up in Falls Church, VA and attended Bishop O’Connell High School in Arlington. Kim and her husband, James, moved to Manassas in 2002. Her son was born in 2005 and Kim became a stay-at-home mom. She attended school during her time home, and received a BA in Psychology and a BA in Health Informatics from Ashford University. Kim is an avid reader, a hockey fan (Go Caps!), enjoys making art, loves all things miniature, and is a Harry Potter super fan. |
Susan Dommer, Music Director
As Music Director, Susan directs the church’s choirs and works with the Pastor to help integrate music into worship.
She has a Masters in music education and has been the choral director for many years in the Manassas school system, spending most of that time at Stonewall Middle School. Susan often attends conferences for professional development as a music director. When she isn’t working she enjoys spending time with her husband, Rob, and their three sons, Justin, Ryan, and Lucas. |
Gilmer Akers, Maintenance
Gilmer graduated from Osbourn High School, with a specialty in Masonry.
At home, he helped his father, who was a “jack of all trades”. He served Camp Shiloh as a volunteer maintenance worker for 9 years. Employment gave him 35 years’ experience in new home and office construction, as a brick mason and foreman. During that time, he had the pleasure of repairing a 200-year old church and public school in Alexandria. When not working, he enjoys singing in the church choir, tinkering with projects, and gardening. |
Tina Fisher, Community Engagement Coordinator
Tina has a great deal of experience planning and managing events in a variety of different venues.
Tina has been attending MCoB since 2000, is a member of our choir and the Manassas Chorale.
Tina manages the church calendar, the scheduling of internal and external clients, and handles the all the logistics of the students who reside in the guest house (parsonage.)
Tina is on the advisory board of Healthy Families Prince William, which is a program with Northern Virginia Family Services.
She enjoys meeting new people and travelling.

Ryan Dommer, Livestream Operator & Security
Ryan has attended Manassas Church of the Brethren his entire life. Ryan graduated from Osbourn High School and is currently attending Northern Virginia Community College.
Ryan is responsible for all of our livestream operations. as well as security & lock-up.
