Our Statement of Vision and Purpose
We are a community of care, where relationships matter and Christian discipleship counts. Through our ministry, we seek to worship and glorify God and to proclaim, embody, and convey the message and redeeming love of Christ Jesus as revealed in the scriptures and experienced in our Christian Heritage. |
Our Church
In 1895 Cannon Branch Church (Later named Manassas Church of the Brethren) began its service to the Manassas community. The congregation seeks to share the message of God’s love through Jesus Christ as we provide meaningful worship and educational experiences, enjoy a church program that is inter-generational and family friendly, and extend God’s love through acts of service. Our worship is committed to worshiping God and experiencing God’s presence through scripture, preaching, music, and prayer as a source of support and guidance in our daily living. We have no formal creed but accept the New Testament as our guide of faith and practice. In the Brethren tradition, we strive to live by the example of Jesus; peacefully, simply, and in community with others with an emphasis on serving our neighbors. Through the cross and through his ministry, Jesus brought the message of life, love, and hope. Through his resurrection and the empty tomb, we know that anything is possible with God. Carrying out God’s purpose, Jesus ministered to people’s spiritual and physical needs. We believe that as Christians we are called to serve as Jesus served. Our congregation welcomes all who wish to share with us in another way of living: the way of Christian discipleship, life in community, and fulfillment in service. |
