Manassas Church of the Brethren YouthAbout the Youth Program
Sunday School classes are held for each age group; junior high and senior high and each youth group has their own room to decorate. Weekly ‘Raps’ are times for youth to exercise their Christian faith, ask questions in a safe environment, and learn how Jesus would have us live. Fellowship activities include skating, bowling, movies, sports in the Fellowship Center and game nights at church. Lock-ins at church are a special time to deepen friendships. Sumer denominational Workcamps are a highpoint of the year and provide a variety of service opportunities. Workcamps provide an experience that connects service, faith, and spiritual growth. While the service offered does improve the quality of life for others, it is equally important as a time to reflect on our own lives. The significance of the work is more than social charity, it is an encounter with real people in the real world. The Manassas congregation values the youth of the church. A special Sunday is set aside for Junior High in the fall and Senior High in May, at which the youth plan and lead the morning worship. |
