These organizations were kind enough to show our members ways we can volunteer and help our community.
Volunteer Prince William – It begins with the power of one! When we take the time to reach out, teach others, or empower someone to follow their dreams; we expose the true potential that resides in people of all abilities. Through numerous opportunities in the Prince William area, one individual can help a child learn to read, improve our environment, collect food for area food banks or provide companionship to an elder citizen. These individual efforts, over time, are what make a difference in the world. It begins with the power of one. Our Mission: Meeting community needs through volunteer resources.
Our core volunteer programs are:
- Volunteer Connections
- Retired and Senior Volunteer Program (RSVP)
- Disaster Services
- Court-ordered Alternative Service Program for adults and juveniles
- Un-Trim-A-Tree Holiday Gift Program
ACTS (Action in Community Through Service) – ACTS fosters hope, provides relief and promotes self-sufficiency for our Prince William area neighbors in crisis. ACTS was formed when 13 churches came together in 1969 to alleviate suffering and hunger in our area. Today, ACTS is supported by many faith-based organizations; local businesses; civic groups; schools; families in the community; Prince William County Board of Supervisors; and the United Way of the National Capital Area. We embrace a client-centered approach to helping our neighbors in the Greater Prince William County Area deal with crisis, recover from trauma, and have their most basic human needs of food and shelter met with compassion.
As our logo suggests, we are optimistic about the future and are both here to offer a hand when the community reaches out to us, and we reach out to our local communities whenever we can be of service. We work in partnership with our neighbors and build relationships with those we serve.
ACTS Provides Assistance for:
